While working with victims of domestic violence over the past several years, we have found that the children are too often the “overlooked” victim in these sad and unfortunate situations. Oftentimes, children witness unspeakable acts committed against a loved one, many times by another loved member of the family. We’ve found that help and support is lacking for the children in our area and this is why we have shifted our focus to create “Brave Survivors” and have decided to continue helping victims of domestic violence by helping them provide love, support, and guidance, for the most vulnerable, their children.  The number one indicator for successful healing for a child who has been traumatized is whether they have peace, love, respect and support from their family and caregivers.
